How to Make a Classic Irish Coffee

  1. Fill a glass mug with hot tap water to bring the glass to a warmer temperature. Empty the mug.

  5. To keep the cream from combining with the coffee, you need to whisk the cream. It should be thick and frothy, but not so thick that you cannot pour it.

Can I use other alcohols?

Sure, you could use alcohol other than Irish whiskey, but it will no longer be an Irish coffee.
