Frequently Asked Questions

Can you freeze churro dough?

Yes, you can freeze churro dough. Pipe your churro dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and place into a freezer-safe bag or airtight container. Keep in freezer for up to 2 months. When ready, allow dough to thaw completely to room temperature before air frying.

Can I make these churros ahead of time?

Yes, you can make your churros ahead of time, but you should not air fry them until you’re ready to serve. You can make the churro dough and keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. When ready, allow dough to come to room temperature before air frying.

Why do my churros taste like eggs?

Your churros may taste eggy if you don’t remove your dough from heat before adding your eggs. This may cause the eggs to cook a bit in the heat which gives off the egg taste. Be sure to let your dough cool in step 4 after removing it from heat to avoid this.

How do I reheat churros?

Churros are best served fresh after air frying. They do not keep very well as they become a bit soggy after sitting out. If you do have leftovers, store in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If needed, reheat churros in a preheated Air Fryer at 375 °F for 2-3 mins.
