You might wonder how such a short list of ingredients can produce a dessert this good, but trust us, the magic happens in its simplicity. Each ingredient plays a crucial role, contributing to the perfect texture and taste. These brownies are guaranteed to become your go-to whenever an after-dinner chocolate craving strikes, or honestly, any time of day!
Beyond being a quick fix, these hazelnut brownies offer a delightful sensory experience. They are intensely chocolatey, perfectly moist, and wonderfully fudgy, especially when enjoyed warm. Imagine the aroma filling your kitchen as they bake, setting the stage for a truly comforting treat. Whether you prefer them gooey straight from the oven or slightly cooled for a firmer bite, they are consistently delicious.

The Secret to Simplicity: Quality Ingredients
When a recipe calls for only four ingredients, the quality of each one becomes paramount. That’s why we emphasize using the best. Our pantry is always stocked with essential baking staples like flour and salt, and of course, a jar of our favorite chocolate-hazelnut spread. But the unsung hero, especially in a recipe this minimal, is the egg.
Having switched to Nellie’s Free Range Eggs last year, we can confidently say we’ll never go back. These eggs are incredibly fresh and packed with flavor, making a noticeable difference in every recipe we bake, including these hazelnut brownies. Their superior quality ensures that the brownies are always light yet rich, with a perfect rise and tender crumb.

And when we say we go through a lot of eggs, we mean *a lot*! Between our everyday cooking and extensive baking for work, it’s not uncommon for us to use a dozen eggs in a single day. Whether they’re the star of a savory dish or providing structure and richness in baked goods, quality truly is key. Nellie’s Free Range Eggs are Certified Humane, meaning the hens are raised with care and allowed to roam freely. This ethical approach translates into eggs that not only taste better but also make you feel good about what you’re consuming. This commitment to excellence makes Nellie’s Free Range Eggs an absolutely essential ingredient for these hazelnut brownies, ensuring every batch is as delicious as possible.
With only five minutes of prep and twenty minutes in the oven, these brownies are perfect for multitasking. Pop them in, and you’ll have time to catch up on laundry, get the kids ready for bed, or simply relax and unwind. It’s homemade goodness with maximum convenience!

How To Make These Effortless Hazelnut Brownies
Creating these delightful hazelnut brownies is incredibly straightforward. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can go from craving to indulging.
Begin by preheating your oven to a moderate 350°F (175°C). While the oven heats, prepare an 8-inch square baking pan by lining it with either aluminum foil or parchment paper. This simple step will make removing and cutting your brownies a breeze later on. Once your pan is ready, set it aside.
Next, measure out the hazelnut spread and add it to a large mixing bowl. This rich, chocolatey base is the star of our brownies, so make sure to get every last bit!

Now, carefully crack your two large Nellie’s Free Range Eggs into the bowl with the hazelnut spread.

Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs and hazelnut spread together. Mix until the mixture is completely smooth and well-combined, which typically takes about one minute. While it might be tempting to mix by hand, a mixer is highly recommended due to the thick and sticky nature of hazelnut spread, ensuring a truly uniform batter.

Once your wet ingredients are perfectly blended, it’s time to incorporate the dry components. Add the measured all-purpose flour to the bowl. For best results and the right brownie consistency, measure your flour by spooning it into the measuring cup until it’s heaping, then gently shake the cup from side to side to level it slightly – but avoid packing it down or leveling it off completely with a straight edge. This method ensures you don’t add too much flour, which can lead to dry brownies.

Next, add the kosher salt. This small but mighty ingredient enhances all the other flavors, bringing out the depth of the chocolate and nuttiness of the hazelnut. Mix the flour and salt into the hazelnut-egg mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; overmixing can develop the gluten in the flour, leading to a tougher brownie. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure everything is incorporated.

Now, here’s where you can customize your hazelnut brownie experience! If you prefer a classic, slightly cakey brownie, simply transfer the batter to your prepared pan and proceed to bake. However, if you’re like us and adore ultra-fudgy brownies, now is the time to stir in about 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips. Semisweet or dark chocolate chips work wonderfully, adding an extra layer of chocolatey richness and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Once the chocolate chips are evenly distributed, spread the batter into the prepared pan.

But the options don’t end there! For those who appreciate a delightful textural contrast, adding a crunch to your brownies is a fantastic idea. Before baking, sprinkle the top of the brownie batter with 1/4 cup of chopped hazelnuts. This not only adds a beautiful presentation but also an extra layer of nutty flavor and a satisfying bite. This can be done whether you choose cakey or fudgy brownies.

Bake your brownies for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Keep an eye on them, as oven temperatures can vary. The result? A stunning batch of homemade Hazelnut Brownies, ready to impress!
Pro Tip: For perfectly clean slices, especially when the brownies are still warm, try using a plastic knife. It glides through the soft, fudgy texture without sticking!

-
In a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat together the chocolate-hazelnut spread and eggs until completely combined, about 1 minute. Mixing by hand is not recommended due to the spread’s sticky texture.
-
To accurately measure the flour, spoon it into the measuring cup so that it’s heaping, then gently shake the measuring cup from side to side to remove some of the excess flour but DO NOT level off.
